  1. 1 lb dried peaches
  2. 2 lbs sugar
  1. Wash the fruit, and cut very small, and soak for 24 hours in enough water to cover them. Then cook slowly until the fruit is tender. Press it through a sieve. Pour the puree in a pan, add the sugar, and stir till it has dissolved; continue cooking slowly till the mixture becomes very thick. Stir frequently.
