  1. 1 gallon water
  2. 2 1/2 lbs loaf sugar
  3. 2 lemons
  4. 2 quarts cowslip flowers
  1. Boil water and sugar for 1/2 hour, strain and pour into large bowl with rinds of 2 lemons. When cold add flowers with juice of the lemons. Let stand for 2 days, stirring it well every 2 to 3 hours. Put in barrel and leave for 3 weeks. Bottle adding 1 lump sugar to each bottle.
