Ingredients
  1. 4 lbs cooking apples
  2. 2 lbs blackberries
  3. 5 lbs sugar
Instructions
  1. Pick over the blackberries, lay them in a dish, cover with 1 lb sugar and leave till next day. Peel, core and slice apples, put them with the blackberries and juice into pan, add rest of sugar and heat gently, stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Boil all together for about 3/4 hour. When sets, remove from fire, pour into warm jars and cover.
